How many times have you had to use the word “rape” in your life, or been asked if you want to be labeled as a “survivor” or “victim”. How many times have you told yourself that it wasn’t your fault? How many times have you been asked “How did this happen, you're a man”? How many meetings with detectives have you been in having to explain in great detail what happened and why it was rape? How many times did you fight in court, just to lose because according to them man on man forced sex isn’t considered rape? According to the courts, the man who forced sex onto me and abused me just had "a naive, inappropriate belief that teenage boys are appropriate sexual partners and they will not be negatively affected by having sex with him because they would only engage with him in what he considers consensual sex.”
